Who Is Qualified To Work On Gas: Gas work should only be carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers VSB Plumbing Services (213869) is such a company. Unsafe gas appliances can cause gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide poisoning - and can kill! Make sure your appliances have a regular service and an annual gas safety check and follow the Gas Safe Register's top tips to stay .

Gas Certificates: At present VSB Plumbing Services issue paper based landlord safety certificates CP12 and Warning notices CP14.

Documentation : Gas Boiler/Appliance Manufacturers Installation & Service Instructions.

Please keep all documents safe and accessible. The Gas Safe engineer will require them for reference when undertaking a boiler service, repairs or gas safety check.

Please provide Make, model, serial number and GC number when communicating with VSB Plumbing Services if possible as this will help a great deal. It is important when arranging a service or repair that you provide the user manual and servicing manual to ensure service and repair is carried out to manufacturer's instructions. We can obtain most manuals (Subject to availability from the manufacturer) for a nominal fee or free if in PDF form.

Invoices:  Invoices are paper based. However a computer generated PDF invoice can be provided.

Service Kits:  If the boiler requires a service kit then this is an extra cost on top of the service that is provided by VSB Plumbing Services (these items in the majority of cases will have to be ordered before a service can take place). Please provide Make, model, serial number and GC number. This information can be found on the manufacturers plate attached to the boiler somewhere or quote the information on the manufacturer’s installation & service instructions.

Boiler/Gas Appliance Service Standard Practice: Whether the property is privately owned or rented as a standard practice during the Gas Safety Check/Service we will test the soundness of the whole gas system, including the installation pipework, visual inspection of the gas pipework and meter installation in the inspected property. Other gas engineers may not do so.

It is important to service the boiler and other gas appliances ANNUALLY.

It is vital that your boiler and other gas appliances are regularly checked and maintained to check for continued safe operation, help spot any future issues and gas safety regulations.

It is a comprehensive service including a thorough clean of the boiler as well as a gas safety check, in accordance with each boiler manufacturer’s instructions.

Carbon Monoxide Detector: VSB Plumbing Services along with the HSE strongly recommend installing a carbon monoxide detector (CO²). This is one useful precaution to give tenants advance warning of CO² in the property. Importantly alarms should not be regarded as a replacement for regular maintenance and safety checks. CO² alarms should be installed and maintained in line with the manufacturer's instructions.
